“ Dear friends,

We hate bringing you this news but while the entire band is vaccinated and following safety protocol, over half of the members have experienced breakthrough infections. The breakthroughs were pretty rough and knocked us out of work and life for two weeks, therefore we have decided to put the brakes on our Fall tour and only play the Fest date.

This is not an easy decision to make and we were looking forward very much to these shows up and down the East Coast, playing with old friends, meeting new awesome people, seeing everyone in this punk rock community we haven’t seen in years, and getting back to the energy, heart and expression of this thing for all the reasons you can imagine- personal, political, social, all of it. But this shit will fuck you up, and even if the vaccines keep you out of the hospital and off the ventilator, a breakthrough infection in any one of us would grind the tour to a halt, and keep us from our families and work for a week+ due to quarantine. And with young children and vulnerable elders in our everyday lives, we just can’t take that risk. Even for this tour we’ve been looking forward to for months and for songs we’ve been aching to play. At this time, we aren’t comfortable playing indoor shows and won’t be until breakthrough infections and asymptomatic contagion are much less of a risk for our audience, friends, and family.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding. We will be in touch about new plans as soon as they come together.

Please note: This is not an indictment or judgement on anyone else’s choices or comfort level- this is exclusively about where we are at, what risks we are able to take on in our lives right now. Much love and respect to all the bands and folks who are taking the precautions they need to take and still trying to make it happen, and we are sorry we can’t join you for this one. It’s just not yet our time.

Love,

Strike Anywhere ”
